Consumer Terms of Service
Welcome to Syntic AI! Before you access our services, please read these Terms of Service.
Effective · October 8, 2025
This Agreement covers consumer use only. If you are accessing Syntic AI technology through an API key, a business account, or a workplace deployment, a separate set of commercial terms applies to that use.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of this Agreement.
Note: If your employer or another organisation has given you access to Syntic AI services, that organisation's agreement with us governs, and these Consumer Terms do not apply to that use.
About Syntic AI
Syntic AI is an independent technology company. We built and operate Amara, our own frontier AI model, entirely in-house. We do not rely on third-party model providers. The Platform you are using runs on our own infrastructure, trained on our own data pipeline, and governed by our own safety layers.
We are self-funded and answer to our customers — not to outside investors or an externally appointed board. That structure is intentional and shapes every commitment we make in this Agreement.
Eligibility and Your Account
Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old, or the minimum legal age to enter contracts in your jurisdiction if that is higher, to register for or use the Platform.
Account registration
Certain features of the Platform require you to create an account. When you register, you agree to supply accurate, current, and complete information and to keep that information updated. We may use your registered contact details to send you notices and service-related communications, and such communications satisfy any legal requirement that we notify you in writing.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Do not share your password or any access tokens with anyone. All activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility. If you have any reason to believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation, contact us immediately at support@syntic.ai.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at the address above.
Workplace email addresses
If you register using an email address belonging to your employer or another organisation, we may link your account to that organisation's enterprise deployment. We will notify you before making that link. The organisation's administrator may then have access to activity and content associated with your account. If you prefer to keep personal use separate, register with a personal email address.
Trial access
We may offer limited-time or limited-feature trial access to certain parts of the Platform. Trial access is for personal, non-commercial evaluation only and may be subject to additional conditions communicated to you at the time of sign-up.
Permitted and Prohibited Use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for lawful purposes in accordance with this Agreement and any usage guidelines we publish from time to time.
You may not use the Platform to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right — including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, and rights of publicity.
- Develop, train, or improve any AI or machine learning system that is competitive with the Platform, or resell, sublicence, or white-label access to the Platform without our prior written consent.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code or model weights from the Platform, except where this is expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Scrape, crawl, index, or harvest content from the Platform by automated means, including bots, spiders, or data-extraction scripts.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, its infrastructure, or the accounts of other users.
- Introduce malware, viruses, denial-of-service attacks, or any other harmful code or traffic into the Platform.
- Deceive, defraud, or manipulate other people — including impersonating individuals or organisations.
- Generate content that facilitates or promotes illegal activity, violence, terrorism, or harm to any person.
- Use AI-generated outputs to make or influence decisions about the purchase or sale of financial instruments or to provide regulated financial advice, as Syntic AI is not a licensed broker-dealer or investment adviser.
We reserve the right to update permitted use guidelines as the Platform evolves. Continued use after updated guidelines are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated rules.
Your Content, Our Outputs
What you send us
When you use the Platform you may submit text, files, images, audio, or other material ("Submissions"). You retain all ownership rights you hold in your Submissions. By submitting content to the Platform you grant us a limited licence to process that content for the sole purpose of operating the Platform, generating responses, and improving safety and reliability as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for ensuring that anything you submit does not infringe a third-party right, violate any law, or breach this Agreement. We are not responsible for Submissions made by you or other users.
What we generate
The Platform produces AI-generated responses, text, code, images, and other material ("Outputs") in response to your Submissions. Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, we transfer to you any rights we hold in Outputs generated specifically in response to your Submissions. This transfer does not cover Outputs that were generated for other users or that form part of the Platform's general functionality.
Accuracy and reliance
Amara is a powerful model, but AI systems are imperfect. You should be aware that:
- Outputs may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information, even when they appear highly detailed or authoritative.
- Outputs are not professional advice. For medical, legal, financial, or other regulated decisions, consult a qualified professional.
- Outputs reflect the model's training data and may not accurately represent current events, recent developments, or specialist domains.
- You are responsible for independently verifying any Output you intend to act on.
Training and model improvement
We may use your Submissions and Outputs to train and refine Amara and to improve Platform safety, unless you opt out through your account settings. Even if you opt out, we may use content flagged during safety reviews or content you have explicitly submitted as feedback to us. See our Privacy Policy for full details and your options.
Feedback
If you share ideas, suggestions, ratings, or other feedback about the Platform ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that Feedback for any purpose without obligation or payment to you. We value Feedback and use it to make the Platform better, but we have no obligation to act on any particular suggestion.
Subscriptions and Payment
Free and paid tiers
Some parts of the Platform are available free of charge. Access to Syntic Pro and other premium features requires a paid subscription. Fees for paid features are published on our pricing page and may be updated in accordance with this section.
Billing
When you purchase a subscription, you must provide accurate and complete payment information. You authorise us to charge your payment method for all applicable fees and taxes on the agreed billing cycle. If you access the Platform through a third-party app store or distributor ("Distributor"), payment is made to and governed by the Distributor's terms, not ours.
Automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will charge the same payment method used for your initial subscription.
Price changes
We will give you at least 30 days' advance notice of any price increase. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the next renewal date. Continuing to use the Platform after the change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new price.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account portal or by emailing support@syntic.ai. If you subscribed through a Distributor, you must cancel through the Distributor's interface. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will retain access until that date. Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law.
Right of withdrawal
If you are a resident of Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, or Taiwan, you have a statutory right to cancel your subscription within 7 days of first subscribing without giving a reason. To exercise this right, contact us at support@syntic.ai before the 7-day window closes. We will refund amounts paid, less a proportionate charge for any Platform use during the period. This right does not reset if you change subscription tiers or cancel and re-subscribe.
Additional fees
Certain add-on features or usage above plan limits may attract additional charges. We will present any such charges to you for acceptance before they apply.
Third-Party Integrations and Links
The Platform may allow you to connect third-party services, or may display links to external content ("Third-Party Services"). We do not operate, control, or endorse any Third-Party Service, and we accept no responsibility for their content, availability, accuracy, or practices. Your use of any Third-Party Service is entirely at your own risk and subject to the terms and policies of that service.
Content Standards and Moderation
We maintain standards for content on the Platform to keep it safe, lawful, and useful for everyone. Content generated by or shared with Amara must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.
We may review, filter, or remove content — including Submissions and Outputs — that we reasonably believe violates this Agreement, our Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law. This includes content that infringes intellectual property rights, endangers individuals, or facilitates illegal activity. Repeated or severe violations may result in account suspension or termination.
If you encounter content you believe violates our standards, you can report it to us at support@syntic.ai.
Software and Updates
We may release updates to any software or apps forming part of the Platform, including automatic updates that install without additional notice. Some portions of the Platform incorporate open-source software governed by their respective licences. Where those licences conflict with this Agreement, the open-source licence governs for the relevant portion only.
Ownership of the Platform
The Platform — including Amara, all underlying models and infrastructure, the software, design, trademarks, and all associated intellectual property — belongs to Syntic AI and its licensors. Nothing in this Agreement transfers ownership of any part of the Platform to you. The limited licence granted in Section 3 is the full extent of the rights you receive.
Warranties, Liability, and Indemnity
No warranties. THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SYNTIC AI AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS (TOGETHER, "SYNTIC PARTIES") DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND RELIABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR ERROR, THAT OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR FIT FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
Limitation of liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SYNTIC PARTIES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT, THE PLATFORM, OR ANY OUTPUTS OR ACTIONS — REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY AND EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE SIX MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD $100).
Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE SYNTIC PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY CLAIMS, LOSSES, DAMAGES, COSTS, AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM: (A) YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM IN BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT; (B) YOUR SUBMISSIONS; (C) YOUR VIOLATION OF ANY LAW OR THIRD-PARTY RIGHT; OR (D) ANY FRAUD, WILFUL MISCONDUCT, OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE BY YOU.
Jurisdiction note. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT PERMIT EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN FULL. WHERE LOCAL LAW REQUIRES GREATER PROTECTION, THAT LAW APPLIES.
Term, Suspension, and Termination
Duration
This Agreement begins when you first access the Platform and continues until terminated by either party.
Your right to stop
You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time. Closing your account terminates this Agreement with respect to future use. Accrued payment obligations and provisions that by their nature survive termination will remain in effect.
Our right to suspend or terminate
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached this Agreement, if we are required to do so by law, or if your account has been compromised. Where a paid subscription is terminated by us without cause, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused portion on a pro-rata basis. Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund.
Inactivity
We may close free accounts that have had no activity for more than 12 months. We will provide reasonable notice before doing so.
Effect of termination
On termination, your access to the Platform ends and we may delete content associated with your account. Sections 4 (to the extent fees are outstanding), 10, 11, 12, and 13 survive termination.
General Provisions
Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement from time to time — for example, to reflect new features, legal requirements, or pricing changes. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days in advance by email or through an in-Platform notice. Continued use after the effective date of any update means you accept the revised Agreement. If you do not accept an update, you must stop using the Platform and close your account before it takes effect.
Supplemental terms
Certain features or services may have additional terms posted at the point of access. Those supplemental terms form part of this Agreement for the relevant feature. In case of conflict, supplemental terms prevail for the feature they govern.
Entire agreement
This Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and any supplemental terms, is the complete agreement between you and Syntic AI regarding the Platform and supersedes all prior understandings.
Severability
If any part of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
No waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement at any time does not waive our right to enforce it in the future.
No assignment by you
You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under this Agreement without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations — for example, in connection with a corporate restructure or acquisition — without restriction.
Brand use
You may not use Syntic AI's name, logo, or trademarks in any way that implies endorsement, partnership, or affiliation without our prior written permission. Enquiries: marketing@syntic.ai.
Export restrictions
You may not use or access the Platform from any country subject to applicable trade sanctions, or on behalf of any person or entity on a restricted-party list published by the U.S. Treasury, U.S. Commerce Department, or equivalent authorities. By using the Platform you confirm that you are not such a person or entity and are not located in a sanctioned territory.
Governing law and jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Injunctive relief
Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm, without being required to post a bond or prove actual damages.
Legal compliance
We may comply with lawful requests from government authorities or courts regarding the Platform or your account. We reserve the right to report conduct to law enforcement where required or where we believe it is in the interest of safety.
