# Content Humanizer

Transform content that reads like it was generated by a machine — even when it technically was — into writing that sounds like a real person with real opinions, real experience, and real stakes. This is not a cleaning service that removes "delve" and calls it done; it rebuilds the voice from the ground up.

## Before Starting

Search the Knowledge Base for brand voice guidelines and writing examples before asking questions — that context is the voice blueprint; don't improvise a voice when one is already defined.

Gather: the content to humanize; brand voice notes if none exist ("Is your voice direct/casual/technical/irreverent? Give me one example of writing you love"); the audience (changes what "human" sounds like); and the goal (determines how much personality is appropriate). If needed, ask one question: give an example of content that felt right — specific beats descriptive.

## Three Modes

Run in sequence for a full transformation, or jump to the one needed.

1. **Detect** — audit for AI tells, naming what's wrong and why before fixing anything. Diagnostic, not editorial.
2. **Humanize** — strip AI patterns, fix sentence rhythm, replace generic claims with specific ones. The content starts sounding like a person.
3. **Voice injection** — once the generic is gone, inject the brand's specific personality so "human" becomes *this brand's* human.

---

## Mode 1: Detect — AI Pattern Analysis

Scan for these categories and score severity: 🔴 critical (kills credibility) / 🟡 medium (softens impact) / 🟢 minor (polish only). Treat the tell vocabulary below as a living list — newer models develop new tells, so keep refreshing it against current-generation output rather than treating it as fixed.

A rough human-ness read: 80+ needs light polish only; 60–79 needs targeted pattern removal (Mode 2); below 60 the AI-fingerprint density is too high for a patch job — recommend a full rewrite instead of an edit.

**1. Overused filler words** 🔴 — "delve," "delve into/deeper," "landscape" (as in "the current AI landscape"), "crucial/vital/pivotal," "leverage" (when "use" works), "furthermore/moreover/in addition," "navigate" (metaphorical), "robust/comprehensive/holistic," "foster/facilitate/ensure."

**2. Hedging chains** 🔴 — "It's important to note that...," "It's worth mentioning that...," "One might argue that...," "In many cases/most scenarios," "It goes without saying...," "Needless to say..." AI hedges in nearly every sentence because it doesn't know if it's right; humans hedge occasionally, not constantly.

**3. Em-dash overuse** 🟡 — one or two per piece is fine; one every other paragraph is an AI fingerprint. The model uses em-dashes to add clauses the way humans add breath, but compulsively.

**4. Identical paragraph structure** 🔴 — every paragraph runs topic sentence → explanation → example → bridge. Real writing varies: short paragraphs, fragments, asides, digressions that snap back.

**5. Lack of specificity** 🔴 — "many companies" (which ones?), "studies show" (which studies?), "significantly improved" (by how much?), "leading brands" (name one), "a lot of" (how many?). Vague claims exist because specific claims can be proven wrong.

**6. False certainty / false authority** 🟡 — confident assertions about things no one can be certain of ("Companies that do X are more successful" — according to what?). This is laziness dressed as confidence, not humility.

**7. The "in conclusion" paragraph** 🟡 — a carbon copy of the intro ("In this article, we explored X, Y, and Z..."). Real conclusions either add something new or land a clean exit line.

## Mode 2: Humanize — Pattern Removal and Rhythm Fix

**Replace filler words, never just delete.** "Delve into" → "look at," "dig into," or just state the point. "The [X] landscape" → "how [X] works today." "Leverage" → "use." "Crucial/vital" → let the thing be self-evidently important, or name the specific stake. "Furthermore" → nothing, or "and." "Robust" → a specific number ("handles 10,000 requests/sec"). "Facilitate" → "help." "Navigate this challenge" → "handle this."

**Fix sentence rhythm.** AI produces uniform 18–22 word sentences that numb the ear. Fix by breaking long sentences in two, dropping a short sentence after a long one, using fragments for emphasis, and letting some sentences run long only when the thought needs room. Human rhythm patterns: long-short-long,long-short; question-answer-proof; claim-specific example-so what.

**Replace generic with specific.** Every vague claim invites doubt. "Many companies have seen significant improvements" becomes a named source with a dated, specific number — e.g., a company's published funnel data with a year and a percentage. Without hard data, be honest about the limit: "I haven't seen controlled studies on this, but in my experience..." Personal experience beats vague authority every time.

**Vary paragraph structure**, breaking the uniform Statement→Explanation→Example→Bridge pattern: single-sentence paragraphs for emphasis, question paragraphs (pose then answer), a short list dropped mid-flow when there are genuinely 3–5 parallel items, a parenthetical aside that reveals personality, or a confession ("I got this wrong the first time").

**Add friction and imperfection.** Real people change direction mid-thought and say so ("Actually, let me back up"), qualify uncertainty without hiding it, hold opinions that might be wrong, notice things and say so, and react in the moment.

## Mode 3: Voice Injection — Brand Character

Humanizing removes AI; voice injection makes the result *this brand's*. Read the brand voice blueprint from Knowledge Base context first; if none exists, ask for one example of content the brand loves and extract patterns from it: sentence-length preference, formality level (contractions, slang, jargon), use of humor, relationship stance (peer-to-peer, expert-to-student, provocateur), and any signature phrases.

**Techniques:** personal anecdotes ("We saw this firsthand when building X" beats any citation); direct address (say "you," never "users" or "organizations"); opinions without apology (take a side instead of "there are various perspectives"); the aside (a brief parenthetical that shows the brand knows more than it's saying); and a consistent rhythm signature — short staccato bursts or long winding sentences, applied consistently once identified from examples.

**Before (AI-generated):** "It is crucial to leverage your existing customer data in order to effectively navigate the competitive landscape. Furthermore, by implementing a robust onboarding strategy, organizations can ensure that users achieve maximum value..." **After (humanized):** direct address, a specific accusation grounded in the reader's own situation, active point of view, and a short punchy closing line — with every filler word (crucial, leverage, navigate, robust, ensure, furthermore) removed.

## Proactive Triggers

Flag without being asked: AI-fingerprint density too high (10+ tells per 500 words means a patch job won't work — recommend a full rewrite); voice context missing (pause before injecting a guessed voice, ask for one example instead); a specificity gap (5+ vague, unattributed claims — flag that only the user can supply real proof); tone mismatch after humanizing (technically human now, but sounds like a different brand than everything else published); and over-editing risk (flag any genuinely good paragraphs buried in the AI mush before rewriting over them).

## Output Artifacts

AI audit: annotated draft with each pattern flagged, severity, and count by category. Humanized draft: full rewrite with patterns removed, rhythm varied, specificity improved. Voice injection: annotated draft with brand voice applied and changes called out so the pattern can be learned. Before/after comparison: side-by-side view of key paragraphs. Humanity score: 0–100 with a breakdown by signal type.

## Communication

Bottom line first. Every finding states what, why, and how — never "this sounds robotic," always "Paragraph 4 opens with 'It is important to note that' — a pure hedge. Cut it, start with the actual point." Tag confidence: 🟢 verified pattern / 🟡 medium / 🔴 assumed from limited voice context.

## Related Work

Run this after an initial draft exists (hand off to a content-production skill for drafting) and before an SEO optimization pass. For short conversion copy — landing pages, CTAs, headlines — hand off to copywriting instead; this skill is built for longer-form pieces. Hand off to content-strategy for deciding what to create, not how it should sound. Run an answer-engine-optimization pass after humanizing, since human-sounding content tends to get cited more by AI search.
