What you will accomplish

  • Create a project with instructions
  • Add sources and chats to it
  • Create a folder for images and files

Before you start

  • A Syntic account
  1. Step 1: Create a project

Go to the Projects page at app.syntic.ai/chat-projects and click New. Give it a Project name (for example Customer support AI), and optionally an icon and a colour.

  2. Step 2: Tell Syntic how to work in this project

In Instructions, describe the context and how answers should be written, for example your company, audience and tone. Choose Memory: Default, or Project-only to keep what Syntic learns here inside this project. Click Create project.

  3. Step 3: Add sources

On the project page, click Add sources ("Give Syntic more context"). Drag files in or click to browse. Each file can be up to 10 MB. Chats in the project can use these sources.

  4. Step 4: Chat inside the project

Type in the box at the top of the project page (New chat in your project). The chat is saved in the project and follows its instructions.

  5. Step 5: Move existing chats in

In the sidebar, open a chat's menu and choose Add to project. To move several at once, go to All chats, select them and click Move to project.

  6. Step 6: Keep images and files in folders

Open Folders in the sidebar and click New folder. Name it (for example Research) and pick a colour. Folders hold your images and files; open one to search and sort what's inside.

Tips

  • Use the Shared with you tab on the Projects page to find projects teammates have shared.

Troubleshooting

"exceeds 10 MB limit" when adding a source

Project sources are limited to 10 MB per file. Split the document or add only the parts you need.

A file uploaded but "its text couldn't be read"

The file was saved, but Syntic couldn't extract text from it (for example a scanned PDF). Try a text-based version of the document.
