What you will accomplish
- Dictate a message instead of typing it
- Have a hands-free voice conversation
- Listen to an answer
Before you start
- A Syntic account
- A microphone, and permission for your browser to use it
Step 1: Dictate a message
Click the microphone (Dictate) in the message box and speak. Your words appear in the box but are not sent, so you can correct them first. Click Stop dictation, or just press Send, which stops recording and sends.

Click the small arrow next to the microphone (Microphone settings) to pick a device, check the input level, or switch on Hold to record if you prefer push-to-talk.
Step 3: Start a voice conversation
With the message box empty, click Use voice mode. The box shows Connecting… and then Listening…. Talk naturally; Syntic answers out loud. Click Stop voice conversation to end.

Click the speaker icon (Read Aloud) under any answer. Click it again to Pause or Resume.
Troubleshooting
Voice mode stopped by itself
A voice session lasts up to 30 minutes, and dictation stops after a long silence. Click the microphone to start again.
It says the daily voice limit is reached
Your plan's voice allowance for today is used up. Typing still works, and voice is available again tomorrow.
Voice isn't available in my workspace
Some workspaces don't allow voice: for example, voice and read-aloud are turned off in HIPAA workspaces. Otherwise, ask your workspace admin to enable voice.
