The request
"Help me get comfortable with hypothesis testing. Don't lecture me — ask me what I already know, find the part I'm shaky on, and build a short lesson there."
The diagnostic
The Teaching Assistant runs a brief Socratic interview: half a dozen questions that probe the topic from different angles. Each answer updates an inline concept map — confident nodes go green, shaky ones go amber, blank spots go grey.
You see your own understanding as a picture, not as a quiz score.
The lesson
The Assistant picks the highest-leverage amber node and dispatches a Lesson Builder Agent. Out comes a 10-minute lesson in the format that fits the topic:
- A worked example with the steps hidden until you ask for them.
- A short interactive (slider, scatter, decision tree) you can play with.
- Two practice questions that target the exact misconception the map surfaced.
The re-check
After the lesson, the Assistant asks one more question — the same shape as the one that flagged the gap. If you answer it cleanly the node turns green. If not, you loop: the Assistant tries a different angle on the same concept.
Save the map
Concept maps persist across sessions. Open the topic next week and the Assistant remembers what's green and what's amber — so the next session picks up where you left off instead of re-asking what you already know.
For teachers
Drop a class roster into Projects. The Assistant builds one map per student from homework, quizzes, and your notes, and surfaces the three concepts that show up amber across the most students this week — your next lesson, picked for you.
